Description

Computer & Network Operations Supervision: Protect the integrity of the Commerce Bank’s Data Center and Network Production Environments. Serve as the primary onsite authority for the data center environment in prime  hours. Initiates corrective action and manages staff members’ monitoring and support of; Enterprise server, SNA Network Connectivity, Applications, Servers, Midrange and Tandem and Batch production window. Lead the problem resolution process through the appropriate practices and procedures prior to escalation as required. Resolve JCL, printer, scheduling job recovery processes Network, Midrange and Open system issues and escalate incidents to the appropriate on call support groups as necessary across all environments. Supervise the monitoring and support of any outstanding jobs including but not limited to online and batch abends, sub-errors and overdue jobs and job running on all platforms. Assess the health and performance of the peripheral storage devices including but not limited to the Storage Tech Silo for tape devices and EMC symmetric for DASD devices. Use Omegamon , Openview and/or other tools as are present in the environment to monitor and investigate any on-going or outstanding system related issues across all environments. Serve as acting Data Center Manager as necessary and or as assigned. Utilize operational dashboard products generating a daily morning report and other reports as required. Ensure that file transmission servers are monitored and failed transmissions are addressed. Monitor Tandem system to ensure wire transfers are successful. Facilitate the diagnosis of telecommunication problems for first line resolution. Investigate abend situations gathering information regarding the circumstances of the failure and complete the recovery process. Supervise Personnel: Ensure shift is following all departmental and bank policies as documented. Manage team’s breaks and lunch and vacation schedule, ensuring adequate coverage at all times. Complete annual performance reviews for assigned shift personnel. Mentor and coach staff members in all aspects of Computer and Network Operations. Train assigned personal in required aspects of their position. Assist in building and creating corrective action plans gathering. Communication/Escalation: Facilitate communications with all different levels of staff/management in resolution of problems. Ensure appropriate escalation and documentation of incidents that are categorized as a Severity 1, and ensure notifications are sent to the pre-defined list of IT Managers and support personnel. Direct activities ensuring that Magic System problem tickets are submitted for all issues. Ensure that Magic tickets assigned to the Data Center Operations and Network Operations workgroup are worked in a correct and timely manner. Generate Daily reporting as required for assigned shift. Fill out the daily turnover report of the events of the day and review any issues that occurred during the shift with the incoming supervisor. Coordinate with other shift supervisors to ensure that the daily reports are complete and accurate. Own and facilitate shift turnovers ensuring the all pertinent information is ether garter or conveyed to the oncoming and outgoing shifts. Service Level Management: Be knowledgeable of critical service level agreements and escalation procedures for all problems. Initiate or perform appropriate actions that maximize achieving service level agreements. Data Center Access and Security. Manage physical access to local and remote sites. Sole authority during off hours, Manage security systems to ensure doors and alarm systems function properly. Be knowledgeable on all emergency processes and procedures. Escalate breeches in security as documented. Confidentially manage the acumination of data. Participate in recovery tests by performing documented recovery steps. Remote monitoring of the recovery facility for security and environmental concerns. Coordination of NOC participation in the recovery event including remote monitoring capabilities. Change Implementation: Authorize change implementations based on best practices to maximize availabity the systems and online’s. Evaluate and approve or facilitate the approvals of emergency change controls. Serve as authority for implementation of emergency changes. Coordinated and track multiple client changes and be prepared to report back to management. Contact, schedule and direct vendors on problem resolution to reduce down time during assigned shift. Escalate and document issues related to vendors. Manage vendor personnel and their actions while they are on site. Manage Maintenance windows: Manage time lines and agreed upon go or no-go decisions during major change activities. Assess all weekend changes and make suggestion based on knowledge of the various platforms and SLA’s. Crisis Management: Evaluate the issue and coordinate with the appropriate support personal and efficiently host a bridge call or meeting room. Track and summarize activities associated with issues in a concise manner and offer resolution suggestions and impact analysis. Open and host the appropriate bridge calls as well as insuring proper representations of needed core groups. Escalate issues with UPS, AC, generators, Fire Suppression Systems, and other related infrastructure issues. Accountable for remote environmental and security monitoring of the Olathe recovery center.
