Computer & Network Operations: Protect the integrity of the Commerce Bank’s Data Center and Network Production Environments. Monitor and support the following: Enterprise servers. SNA Network Connectivity. Applications, Servers. Midrange. Tandem and Batch production window. Monitor outstanding jobs including but not limited to online and batch abends, sub-errors and overdue jobs. Monitor the peripheral storage devices including but not limited to the Storage Tech Silo for tape devices and EMC symmetric for DASD devices. Use Omegamon and/or other tools as are present in the environment to monitor and investigate any on-going or outstanding system related issues across all environments. Monitor Tandem system to ensure wire transfers are successful. Investigate abend situations gathering information regarding the circumstances of the failure and complete the recovery process. Fill in for the Lead III during absence or vacation as directed by the Manager of the Data Center. Follow all departmental and bank policies as documented. Communication/Escalation: Communicate resolution of problems to Lead III and to the appropriate staff/management person. Ensure appropriate escalation and documentation of incidents that are categorized as a Severity 1, and ensure notifications are sent to the pre-defined list of IT Managers and support personnel. Create Magic tickets for all issues. Correctly respond in a timely manner to Magic tickets assigned to the Data Center Operations and/or Network Operations workgroups. Assist in filling out the daily turnover report of the events of the day and be prepared to discuss with the incoming shift supervisor if requested by the Lead III. Data Center Access and Security. Monitor security systems to ensure doors and alarm systems function properly. Be knowledgeable on all emergency processes and procedures. Report breeches in security as documented. Assist vendor personnel and their actions while they are on site. Confidentially manage the acumination of data. Disaster Recovery. Participate in recovery tests by performing documented recovery steps. Vendor Management: Contact, schedule and direct vendors on problem resolution to reduce down time during assigned shift. Escalate and document issues related to vendors. Manage vendor personnel and their actions while they are on site. Crisis Management: Evaluate the issue and coordinate with the Lead III and the appropriate support personnel and efficiently host a bridge call or meeting room in the absence or under the direction of the Lead III. Track and summarize activities associated with issues in a concise manner and offer resolution suggestions and impact analysis. Environmental monitoring: Monitor and escalate UPS, AC, generators, Fire Suppression Systems, and other related infrastructures.
